Denise Cueba
Top Dog, GDHB
Hi, I'm Denise, the owner and primary caregiver at Green Doggie Home Boarding. After losing my German shepherd Kobe to bone cancer in 2010, I wanted to make up for all the things that I didn't get a chance to do with him. I started GDHB in 2011 with a mission to give dogs all the attention, love, and exercise they need to be happy and healthy during their time with us. We are so grateful to our loyal clients both human and K9 who have become part of our extended family over the years. I no longer have a dog of my own so your dogs become very special to me.
I've loved dogs all my life. I had 3 wonderful dogs and a bunch of guinea pigs as a kid. I'm Pet First Aid and CPR certified, trained in animal behavior, and have a background in dog nutrition, diet, and holistic care. I have a BA in cultural studies and an AA in social science. This is what I do for a living. I'm not married, I don't have kids or a social life (unless you count movie night with the dogs) so the dogs in my care have my undivided attention.
Alan Cueba
Chief Hiking Officer aka "Dad"
An avid hiker and dog lover, Alan has been hiking with the Rancho Simi Trailblazers since 2002. All dogs love my dad instantly, even the ones with a history of abuse who are supposed to be afraid of men. In addition to being our Chief Hiking Officer, Alan is also Green Doggie's Primary Dog Walker.
Alan's love for dogs started as a child. He grew up with 2 collies named Rex (not at the same time). He then joined the Marines, serving two tours of duty in Vietnam. His platoon's mascot was a tiny dog named Top.
After getting his Bachelor's in History and Master's in Asian Studies, Alan had a successful career in law enforcement during which he was also trained as an Emergency Medical Technician. Little did he know that when he retired, his daughter would move back home, turn his house into a dog hotel and put him back to work!
